KARATE ETIQUETTE

Karate training would not be complete without etiquette it, helps to establish a right order and way of doing things and develops discipline ands respect.
The Dojo is considered "sacred ground". You are to bow as you come through the door as a symbolic gesture of humility and with an attitude of willingness to train hard and follow the instructor on his commands without comment
showing respect.
This enhances his position in the Dojo. If you arrive late for the class stand to the side until the instructor acknowledges and bows you in.
You also bow on leaving the the Dojo.

During the free time break you should not sit on chairs or lay on floors.  If you need to sit , sit on the floor.

As much as possible you should be early at the class and spend some time stretching and loosening up.  There should be no loud talking or unnecessary noise and no eating or chewing gum.

Finger and toe nails are to be kept well manicured and clean in case on injury.

The most important aspect, more than etiquette is the respect and loyalty to be shown to the instructor.

You may be asked to assist in teaching a class or part of a class.  Consider this an honour and a way to develop more confidence, expand your skills, personality and character.

The kids and parents had a great time as usual and we  had enough time to get to the markets and do some heavy duty driving around the trams and roundabouts and gutter parking (Warren) and dodging red emu's (Ros).
Getting soaked with buckets of water (kids). We even got to the Casino one night where Warren cleaned up and won $12.00.

The I.S.K.A.  tournaments finished for the year and Zen Jitsu Kai did exceptionally well in the overall total point score.  Over the year of competition 18 of our students competed in those tournaments and some could only get to 1 or 2 events.  Some consistent team members got the club to 5th place overall, which was great due to other clubs having 30-40 students enter 4-5 events every tournament.

WELL DONE ALL STUDENTS.
